Secure — When looking at fulfilment centres to warehouse your inventory, they should be in a safe area and provide round the clock off-site monitoring, CCTV systems as well as fire sprinkler systems.
Clean — The warehouse should be clean and well organized; this reflects the quality of how your product will be handled and care that will be taken of your inventory.
SOPs — The Third Party Logistics company should have Standard Operating Procedures and manuals customized to support each customer’s specific requirements.

A non-resident importer (NRI) is a company whom does not have a physical

Presence in Canada. This company though imports from the USA into Canada.

And they may do this under their own name. The practical effect of an NRI is

that the NRI may become both the exporter (in the USA) and the importer of

record (Canada).

NRI status confers certain advantages:

1. Successful USA sellers to Canadian business can offer a delivered price

to Canadian customers by assuming the responsibility of being the

Canadian Importer of record. Transportation costs, customs clearance, duties,

VAT can be folded into the price of the product.

2. USA companies can expand their business in Canada and avoid or reduce the expense of maintaining a physical presence in Canada by making use of the services of a third party warehouse or public warehouse (3PL).

An IOR deals with the customs, duties laws and regulation in regards to goods being shipped cross-border. Links Warehousing & Fulfillment can act as the non-resident importer of record within Canada for your business.

The advantages of Links acting as your IOR are as follows:

- Links will manage your brokerage and customs by acting as your Importer of Record, this means we bring product into Canada at cost rather than at wholesale or retail cost so you only pay tax and duties on the lowest possible price.

- You will also not require a Canadian business number and will not need to file monthly GST or annual tax returns in Canada.

When an order is received it needs to be fulfilled. Order fulfillment encompasses all the activities from warehousing, locating the inventory ordered, packing them and shipping them to their destination.

If an order is received by 12 noon it will in most cases be shipped the same day, however if same day shipping cannot be achieved for whatever reason we *guarantee shipping within 24 hours of receipt of the order.

*Provided the inventory is available in the warehouse and that the order is not a very large order with hundreds of different items or SKU’s which may take a long time to pick, check and pack.

Yes, we will inspect returns and advise you as to whether they can be repaired or cleaned and returned to pristine stock, relegated to seconds, or disposed of; reverse logistics is something that we specialize in.

Many of our shipments go out UPS or FedEx, but we also regularly use Canada Post and freight carriers. If your vendor manual specifies a particular trucking company, we will use them.

Yes, we can ship to anyone. Keep in mind that UPS won't ship to a PO box, and some shipping companies charge more to deliver to a residence.

Yes, Link’s business is almost evenly split between consumer direct business and retail distribution to both the chain stores and independents.

Yes, we can do complete inventories or periodic spot-checks. Please note that there may be an additional labor charge for this.

Yes. Links can simplify your entire supply chain. Our partner carriers include Ocean/Air carriers and freight forwarders. We can pick up your goods at the factory and arrange transport all the way to our door, including the Customs clearance and import duties.

No, but it is very helpful when we can scan your product. This especially saves time when receiving goods and picking orders.

Since no two clients are the same we customize our rates for each client based on the product type, order characteristics, transmission method, volumes and clients specific requirements. Once we receive all the necessary information we can usually customize a proposal for you within 24 hours.

We can generally set up a new client and be ready to ship orders in 48 hours.

Typically, the warehouse is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM eastern standard time for receiving and shipping.
